Not so long ago the South Korean tech giant Samsung came up with its flagship smartphone Galaxy S4. After, the disappointing sales of the S4, according to Analyst, Samsung is all set to unveil its next flagship S5 towards the end of this month. Samsung has reportedly announced that it has sold more than 40 million units of S4, worldwide. Given that Apple, Samsung’s greatest competitor, has already launched the 64-bit iPhone 5S, it seemed no surprise when the Korean company followed suit.

The much awaited S5 is expected to come in two versions – one with metal and the other one with plastic casing. Some novel features of this phone also include,

  • Biometric functions like iris recognition or a fingerprint scanner
  • A bigger screen at 5.25in (breathtaking 2560×1440 screen )
  • 16 megapixel camera
  • 2,560 x 1,440 QHD screen
  • 3GB of RAM
  • Exynos 6/Snapdragon 805 innards

It’s also been reported that it will be a weather and dust proof device running a 64-bit optimized version of Android 4.4 KitKat. In spite of frequent criticism of the Galaxy S range’s shiny plastic bodies by almost everyone, Samsung has determinedly clung to its use of polycarbonate through four generations and innumerable “spin-off” devices. But this trend is set to change with the Galaxy S5.

The launch of the “Samsung S5” will be on 24 February, 2014 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We just have to wait and watch what Samsung is coming up with in this era of modern technology. Some believe that it will prove to be the most advanced smart phone in the world when it’s revealed at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
