Job Description
Position Overview: The Director of Government Affairs will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships with government agencies and officials at the state and local levels. This role will play a pivotal role in identifying business opportunities, securing contracts, and advancing the company's interests within the public sector.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, elected officials, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the company's operations and advise senior management accordingly.
• Identify and pursue business opportunities within the public sector, including government contracts, grants, and partnerships.
• Lead negotiations with government agencies to secure contracts and agreements that support the company's growth objectives.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings with government officials to promote awareness of our services and capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and legal, to develop proposals, presentations, and other materials for government clients.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of government relations efforts and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all interactions with government officials and agencies.
• Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the government relations team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, political science, public administration, business, or a related field.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the public sector.
• Strong understanding of government processes, regulations, and policies at the local and state levels.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with government officials and executives.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex government relations strategies that support business objectives.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
