Our Approach to Government Website Designing

SGS Technologie (SGS) is website designing and development company in Jacksonville, Florida. We have decades of experience in designing websites for city corporations, state departments and other government agencies. Core aspects in our designs have included focus on content, customization and mobile responsiveness. SGS acknowledges that the common aspects of web design feature adapting to the latest trends, usage of advanced technology including content management systems and always emphasizing on cost effectiveness as well as security. But our approach goes way beyond those. We add extra elements such as innovation, value-for-money and visual appeal among others. For more clarity, we have listed the main pillars of our website designing approach in the following paragraphs:

  • Content Focused Layouts: Content is always king. And, the website operated by a government agency or city authority will understand this as they need to keep citizens informed. Hence, we ensure that our websites are designed to give various types of content the prominence and easy access they deserve. Content focused designs can include photo galleries, social media posts, videos, and valuable information.
  • Customized Colors: The theme, colors and fonts used in a design are customized to specific identities. That is, we believe that web platforms are the digital brochures or visiting cards of an organization. Visitors hence should immediately feel that they are at the right place. However, we ensure that there aren’t a mix of too many colors as this could revert people’s interest on the website. Moreover, focus is given on ADA compliance along with meeting the latest WCAG guidelines. SGS believes that a government website must be uniformly browsable by everyone; regardless of age and/or abilities.
  • Ease-of-Use: SGS recognizes that the visitors to a government website could include different audiences. They may be citizens of various ages, tastes, levels of knowledge, and language preferences. But everyone must equally like the website and be able to browse it. We hence focus on the appropriate Content Management System. An extensive research is done on the client’s history as well as the target audience. Based on this, an elaborate sitemap, navigation menus, placement of icons, and other steps are implemented to ensure ease-of-usage.
  • Mobile Responsiveness: This quality does not need much elaboration. However, it is a mandatory aspect in all our web designs. We enable access to a government website from all platforms including mobiles, tablets and PCs. For this, responsive meta tags are added in the document, mediaqueries are applied to the layout, readable typography is implemented, and finally all images along with embedded videos are ensured to be responsive.

These were just an outline of the attributes we implement while designing and/or enhancing the websites of government agencies. We also implement the same for private establishments, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and more. It would be interesting to note that SGS also has offices in Tallahassee (FL) and Frisco (TX). Reach out to us at any of our offices or through mail/phone for further discussions on what we can do for your website designing/enhancement requirements.
